Ireland faces some difficulties

Ireland faces some difficulties in the sustainability of its rural areas and the ability of its small towns to compete with the attractions of retail centres in larger towns, the pull of employment in the four main cities, a diminishing public transport network, lack of investment in small towns, closure of local banks, police stations and post offices. A Think-tank “Commission for Economic Development of Rural Areas” has resulted in the appointment of a Minister for Rural Affairs to work on the many recommendations. This initiative mirrors closely the aims of the ENtopia Project, and we shall try to persuade the Minister to support our activities in Ireland.
